Independence Excavating is a recognized industry leader in challenging site development, heavy industrial applications, demolition, environmental solutions, concrete construction, and is one of Cleveland, Ohio’s premier and diversified construction companies. Founded in 1956 by the DiGeronimo family, Independence Excavating has earned a solid reputation for honesty, integrity and outstanding performance.

I was first contacted by the DiGeronimo Family when they were looking for an interaction designer to put a project plan in place. I referred them to Vince Frantz of Frantz ID and Sprokets. A few months later after a user research project was complete we were brought back in to contribute on the visual design for the website. It was a dream project come true. I was handed a stack of wireframes with final (client approved) copy, a library of images and was able to get right to work. The final site is a testament to the Sprokets' creative process and the hard work of everyone involved.

This was a Sprokets project and completed in collaboration with Frantz ID for user research, Planning and Information Design; Jason Parkin for Flash Animation; The Wu Way for Content Development. Reha Sterbin of Sterbin Software, Mike Hickey of 27 Cubes and MIke Barone of Nontoxic Group handled the application development and web engineering.
